Testimonials

Just some of the lovely things people have said about us…

“I never realised how much I’d enjoy my sewing classes, I’ve actually managed to create some lovely items of clothing, curtains, bags etc all with the help of Sue who encourages me and all her students. Sue shares her knowledge and skills and is truly a great teacher who inspires us all.

People have commented how my confidence has grown, not just in the class but outside the classroom too.”

“I started the sewing classes as a refresher course, not realising how much I needed to learn, Sue is a brilliant teacher and inspires confidence in all her pupils, she also encourages us to try  new things, I love the challenges of trying something new.  I’m really enjoying the classes and enjoying sewing again.”

“I have been attending classes with Sue at Creative Stichers for almost 2 years.

When I started I could only sew a button on and take up hems but that was about it! Since joining the sewing class I have surprised everyone including myself with the garments I have created!

Sue is very patient and inspiring. She will bring out your practical and creative side before you know it.”

“I met Sue after coming across her website online.  I wanted to learn a new skill and do something that challenged me.  I chose the dressmaking course and went along to the lesson.  I loved it! I had never done any sewing before and Sue made me feel very welcome and the other girls in the class are lovely. The classes are small and you have as much help as you need.  She is very patient teacher and has guided me every step of the way. I have been with Sue for a year now and I am amazed at how much I have achieved.

It has been a very for fulfilling journey so far and I’m sure that sewing will be a part of my life not just now but in the future. I thank Sue for sharing her wonderful gift and for putting up with me!”

“If you’re the kind of person who quite likes to cut corners and rush through things to get it done, this may not be for you. But if you’re interested in learning new skills (or brushing up on any lapsed skills) and knowing how to do things properly, this is the place to come. Recognised by the Guild of Master Craftsmen, Sue Morley will teach you the very best techniques so you’re armed with valuable skills which lead to a wardrobe clothes that – shock horror – actually fit. Her knowledge and experience is legendary. ”

“I initially attended the school for 1-2-1 tuition to get me started and progressed on to the weekly classes where you choose what you’d like to make and do so at your own pace. Whilst I learn enormously from the feedback and advice that Sue gives me, I also learn from watching the work of others and comparing notes. “

‘Sue is one of the best sewing tutors that I have come across with an amazing depth of knowledge.

She has created a beautiful studio in which to learn to sew.

Sessions are fun and yet I always learn new tips and tricks to achieve a more professional finish.

Sue, will always demonstrate a technique but then goes that extra mile to make sure you can do it too.

Every week we are inspired by the outstanding sewing and couture projects she is working on.

If I could manage it I would attend several times a week!’

“I do so enjoy going to Sue’s lessons they are very relaxing and stimulating at the same time, being creative is a joy, seeing and holding the piece of work I have made is so rewarding.

Sue is very patient and kind. When I first went for lessons with her I was a complete novice as far as machine sewing was concerned, with her guidance and patience she has given me confidence to try new projects, her obvious love of sewing is infectious and passes this on to her students. I always look forward to having my lessons.

Sue’s motto ‘ sewing is not a race but a journey’ made me stop and think and helpful to  all students. I am thoroughly enjoying my journey with Sue and my sewing machine.”

Hi Sue, Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful day. Can’t stop looking at the bag I made and feeling very pleased with myself!!
Love your studio, it’s amazing and can’t wait to book on another course!

Hi Sue, Thanks for inviting me along to the sewing group this morning – I loved it! Such nice people and I was made to feel very welcome. I’ll definitely come again. Thanks also for your zip advice, think I’ll be okay now on the next one. I ironed the applique cover and popped it on the cushion pad, it looks fabulous, I’m very pleased with it. I showed my next door neighbour both cushions this afternoon – she wants me to make some for her! Looks like I might be taking orders, ha ha.

‘Thank you very much for today. A most illuminating course, well presented, in lovely surroundings. I now look forward to knowing my overlocker a little better!

‘I have attended this friendly sewing group 3 times so far and feel inspired by all the varied and interesting projects the ladies have in hand. Everything from dressmaking; Diamond Jubilee bunting, applique, embroidery.. to dolls and bags. Sue and Tracy who run the group are both very welcoming and encouraging, making sure that everyone feels included and providing frequent cups of tea and biscuits!

I have previously been to some dressmaking classes and can confidently complete many aspects on my own but need guidance with new skills. Sue is incredibly experienced as well as being very patient and has has helped me with some things I was struggling with, like how to attach the lining to an invisible zip, how to get the hem length right on a full circular skirt and how to operate my new (and scary!) overlocker.

There is such a wide range of experience in the group that I am sure anyone who enjoys any kind of sewing would benefit from coming along to see what fun can be had and to have a good old natter!’

Thank you for showing me the way with my new sewing machine I feel so much more confident now I know what all those dials and knobs are for!!’

‘Since I have been on your soft furnishing course I now have the confidence to make curtains and cushions. I made curtains for my bedroom and some cushions for my Mum,  she was absolutely thrilled with them, she couldn’t believe that I had made them.’

‘I bought my overlocker over 15 years ago, used it when I first got it but when one of the threads broke I just couldn’t get it to work again properly, it was so frustrating that I just gave up and it went in the loft. But Sue encouraged me to get it down and give it another go. I have to say that spending just 3 hours with you on the ‘Master your overlocker’ workshop  was the best 3 hours I have ever spent. I can now thread it up properly, adjust the tensions and now I know what the Differential Feed is for!

Thank you so much.’
