Buying bespoke curtains can be so expensive!!

This week-end course is aimed at absolute beginners who would like to learn how to make beautiful curtains for their home at a fraction of the price of buying them. It will also give you the confidence and inspiration to make your own projects! 


We will look at various methods of making different types of curtains by making samples of a voile, ‘bagged out’, and both traditionally lined and interlined curtains.  All your samples can be taken away for future reference.


On this course you will also learn how to:

  • Measure your windows accurately
  • Calculate the amount of fabric required
  • Cut out and align those pattern repeats
  • Learn about different heading tapes
  • Choose suitable linings and interlinings 
  • Pattern match with confidence
  • How to hang and dress your curtains.
  • Practice different machine and hand sewing techniques

All materials are included for the making of the curtain samples etc on this course.

You will need to bring along your sewing machine and basic sewing kit for this course. 

If you don’t have a sewing machine then I will gladly lend you one of mine for the day, just let me know in advance.
